We are committed to ensuring that we only recruit staff that possesses the relevant skills, qualifications, experience, character qualities and values required for the job in question. We have two Registered Mental Health Nurses to support our residents with any of their mental health needs.
We have a rigorous selection and recruitment policy based on fairness and in line with Equal Opportunities and Disability Discrimination Acts. All potential new members of staff are subject to regulatory safety checks including a Disclosure & Barring Service check. As appropriate, health care professionals must also be registered with the body responsible for their regulation as appropriate e.g. The Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Matron and Deputies ensure that excellent standards of nursing care are maintained by all staff, with Registered Nurses working alongside and supervising experienced Care Staff. We are a non-profit making registered charity which enables us to ensure that staffing levels often exceed minimum standards – we recruit for quality rather than need.
We are committed to ensuring that staff are skilled, qualified and experienced in order to provide person centred quality care.
All staff are supported by an ongoing training programme and encouraged to obtain appropriate qualifications in order to maintain and enhance high standards of care. We also employ 'Senior Health Care Assistants' who work closely with the Registered Nurses in ensuring the overall standards of excellence and quality are maintained throughout the home. All staff receive comprehensive induction training and annual mandatory training thereafter, and also attend external courses as deemed appropriate through appraisal/supervision – courses and staff time are paid for.
We have a stable productive workforce and listen to staff and allow them to voice their needs/concerns, with the management structure promoting a positive attitude towards staff development and training. We have My Home Life Associates who aim to improve the Quality of Life for people living, dying, working and visiting care homes. We also provide learning experience for Student Nurses undergoing training, and actively encourage a system of ‘volunteers’ within the home.
The team is completed by our team of chefs, domestics, maintenance, activity coordinators and administration team who all work to support our residents in their relevant specialities.
